PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a high-precision diagnosis of tissue characteristics.SOLUTION: A region of interest is set (S302) by displaying a B-mode image by ultrasonic waves at a transmission frequency for a B-mode (S300). Subsequently, the transmission frequency is set as a predetermined transmission frequency for tissue characteristics depending on the depth and size of the region of interest, and the ultrasonic waves are received by each element (S306). A variation index is calculated on the basis of relations among the respective elements performing reception (S308-S318), and the transmission frequency is returned to the transmission frequency for the B-mode (S320). |
