PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small and long lived chill vent with high cooling performance, which can be inexpensively manufactured.SOLUTION: A chill vent is provided with a fixed part 1a, a movable part 1b, an inlet part 2 formed between both, an initial cooling part 3, and a main cooling part 4. The inlet part 2 communicates with a cavity 12 of a mold 11, and the initial cooling part 3 communicates with the inlet part 2 and forms divided flow projections 5 in the inside. The main cooling part 4 communicates with the initial cooling part 3, the divided flow projections 5 are positioned downstream of and in front of the inlet part 2, and have recesses 51 in a side of the inlet part 2. Molten metal made to flow in from the inlet part 2 collides with the divided flow projections 5 to flow toward the side of the inlet part 2. |
