PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medium width-aligning mechanism capable of width-aligning a medium by simple mechanism and control.SOLUTION: A medium width-aligning mechanism includes a width-aligning roller mechanism having a reference side width-aligning conveying roller placed on a reference plane side on which a medium is width-aligned, and an aligning side edge alignment conveying roller arranged facing the reference side width-aligning roller, a conveying roller nipping the medium by the reference plane side width-aligning roller and the aligning side width-aligning conveying roller to convey the medium in a conveying direction, a push roller pushing out the medium in a direction that a conveying surface of the medium is pushed, a drive part moving the reference plane side width-aligning roller and the aligning side width-aligning conveying roller and the push roller, and a control part making the medium width-aligned with the reference plane of the medium by controlling the operation of the drive part so as to move the reference plane side width-aligning roller in a direction of not nipping the medium after moving the alignment side width-aligning roller from a state of nipping the medium to a state of not nipping the medium, and after making the reference plane side width-aligning roller and the alignment side width-aligning roller and the conveying roller nip the pushed-out medium by pushing out the medium by the push roller. |
