A method for manufacturing a mother-of-pearl ornament, comprising: a first step of treating a surface of a target object with sandpaper; a second step of performing a base lacquer treatment after the surface treatment, to form a base layer; a third step of drying the base layer; a fourth step of drawing designs, letters, or pictures, on a semi-transmissive mother-of-pearl plate; a fifth step of cutting the mother-of-pearl plate along the designs, letters, or pictures; a sixth step of forming a color layer on a back surface of the mother-of-pearl plate; and a seventh step of attaching the mother-of-pearl plate to the target object; and an eight step of performing surface treatment and gloss treatment. According to the present invention, the back surface of a semi-transmissive base mother-of-pearl plate with a single color is colored with various colors to be shown, and the colors on the back surface of the mother-of-pearl plate are reflected toward a front surface of the mother-of-pearl plate, so that a mother-of-pearl plate with several colors can be manufactured from a base mother-of-pearl plate with a single color, thereby realizing several colors of elaborate mother-of-pearl plate patterns. Further, the productivity can be increased and the manufacturing costs can be reduced.
