PURPOSE: A composition containing red ginseng and fish oil is provided to suppress hyperproliferation of epidermal cells and to prevent and treat skin aging. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for preventing and treating skin aging contains red ginseng extract and fish oil as an active ingredient. The active ingredient suppresses MMPs(matrix metalloproteinase) expression and TIMP-1(tissue inhibitors of matrix metalloproteinase-1) expression. An agent for preventing and treating skin aging contains the red ginseng extract and fish oil as an active ingredient and pharmaceutically acceptable carrier, excipient, or diluent. A health functional food composition contains 0.01-20 wt% of red ginseng extract and fish oil as an active ingredient and sitologically acceptable food additive. |
