PURPOSE: An active vent airbag control system and a control method thereof are provided to maximally protect passenger under various kinds of situation by interlocking operation of an active vent with first development, second development, and a seat belt. CONSTITUTION: An active vent airbag control system comprises a first inflator, a second inflator, an active vent, and a control unit. The active vent selectively forms a vent according to movement of an operating unit. The control unit operates the first inflator if a first development condition is satisfied. The control unit operates the second inflator if a second development condition is satisfied for an hour and operates the active vent if the second development condition is not satisfied. The control unit operates the active vent for two hours if the second inflator is operated.
