PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device capable of preventing entry of water into a liquid crystal display panel without increasing the total thickness of the liquid crystal display device.SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display device 1 includes a substrate 12, a polarizing plate 16 whose periphery 16ais inside the periphery 12b of the substrate 12 in plan view, an adhesive layer 15 which is between the substrate 12 and the polarizing plate 16 and sticks the substrate 12 and the polarizing plate 16 together, and a sealant 50 covering at least the periphery 15a of the adhesive layer 15. An area 16bwhere the sealant 50 contacts the second face 16b extends between the periphery 15a of the adhesive layer 15 and the edge 16aof the first face 16a. |
