The method involves receiving measurement records of an upper jaw and a lower jaw or partial sections of the upper jaw and the lower jaw. Movement parameters of the upper jaw and/or the lower jaw are directly determined from the measurement records. A movement of the upper jaw and/or the lower jaw or partial sections of the upper jaw and the lower jaw are performed under contact of two jaw records, where the movement of the upper jaw and/or the lower jaw includes laterotrusion, protrusion or mediotrusion. An independent claim is also included for a method for optimizing tooth restorations or artificial denture parts.
