PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyvinyl alcohol resin film material capable of obtaining a polarizing film having little unevenness of appearance.SOLUTION: A polyvinyl alcohol resin film material related to the present invention is used to obtain a polyvinyl alcohol resin film for forming a polarizing film. The polyvinyl alcohol resin film material contains a polyvinyl alcohol which has a saponification degree of 92 mol% or more, a polymerization degree of 2000 or more and 3000 or less as measured according to JIS K6726, a ratio of a weight-average polymerization degree determined by gel permeation chromatography to a number-average polymerization degree of less than 3.0 and a block character of 0.3 or more and 0.6 or less. |
