PURPOSE: An integrated fresh water generating apparatus based on a forward osmosis process and a membrane distillation process using solar energy and a method for generating fresh water using the same are provided to simplify operational processes and to generate fresh water based on low amount of energy. CONSTITUTION: A fresh water generating apparatus includes a forward osmosis module(100) and a membrane distillation module(200), and both modules are integrated. The membrane distillation module implements a membrane distillation process against a draw solution. The forward osmosis module includes a forward osmosis membrane(2). The forward osmosis module is divided into an introducing water supplying part(13) and a draw solution supplying part(12). The membrane distillation module includes a hydrophobic distillation membrane(21). The membrane distillation module is divided into a draw solution heating part(24) and a generated water collecting part(23). The draw solution heating part includes a solar heat-based heating plate(22). The draw solution is supplied to the draw solution supplying part after fresh water is discharged from the draw solution. |
