PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper roll printer capable of continuing printing in accordance with operator's operation, even when a paper near-end state is detected, that is, even when the state that a residual amount of recording paper is small is detected.SOLUTION: A printer 1 for printing on a recording paper 16 fed from a paper roll 15 includes: a near-end sensor 25 configured to detect a paper near-end state; a near-end processing control unit 50 configured to, when the paper near-end state is detected, perform a near-end processing operation of performing printing for a set number of lines, and suspending the following printing; an operation lever 10; and a resetting unit 46 configured to, when the operation lever 10 is operated, reset the detection state of paper near-end by the near-end sensor 25, then, allow the near-end sensor 25 to detect the paper near-end state. If the operation lever 10 is operated during the near-end processing operation, the near-end sensor 25 detects the paper near-end state again, and the near-end processing operation is performed from beginning, then, printing can be continued. |
