The method involves producing gas pressure relative to the normal ambient air pressure in a container in a sector (S1) of a filling system. The container is filled with the liquid against the prevailing gas pressure in the sector (S2) of the filling system. The liquid filled container is closed immediately after being filled with the liquid in the sector (S3) of the filling system, while leaving the overpressure gas inside.
