The present invention relates to a polyimide precursor which contains at least one kind of repeating unit represented by chemical formula (1), and which is characterized in that a polyimide obtained from this polyimide precursor has a linear thermal expansion coefficient from 50°C to 400°C of 100 ppm/K or less. (In the formula, A represents an arylene group; and each of X1 and X2 independently represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group having 1-6 carbon atoms or an alkylsilyl group having 3-9 carbon atoms.)
