The device (1) has multiple transformation stations (4) that are located on a movable carrier (2). The transformation stations comprise two mold supporting elements (42,44) for opening/closing of the transformation stations. The transformation stations include a closure mechanism (8) that comprises a guide curve which is partially moved relative to the transformation stations during an expansion process. The guide curve is arranged such that the transformation stations are temporarily maintained in the closed state, during the expansion process by the action of the curve. An independent claim is included for a method for molding plastic containers.
