PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lightweight molten metal transfer pipe which is capable of suppressing permeation of molten metal into a refractory material even when the pressure (head) of the molten metal is high, is strong against heat shock, and does not need preheating, and to provide a method for manufacturing the same.SOLUTION: A molten metal transfer pipe 1 is a pipe used for transferring molten metal, and includes a tubular body 3 formed of a metallic material, a blanket 4 which is formed of ceramic fiber to cover the inner surface 3a of the tubular body 3, and a sleeve 6 which is formed of heat-resistant cloth to cover the inner surface 4a of the blanket 4. The inner surface 6a of the sleeve 6 is coated with a heat-resistant coating agent. |
