PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable terminal device which eliminates a hardware key on a side surface of a housing and improves the operability.SOLUTION: A portable terminal device 100 of this invention includes: a housing 102; a touch panel display 104 positioned on a front surface of the housing 102; a side surface touch panel 120 positioned on a side surface of the housing 102; and a control part 122 which determines whether a user holds the housing 102 with its left hand or right hand according to a contact pattern to the side surface touch panel 120 and switches the display of the touch panel display 104 to the display for the left hand or for the right hand. |
