[Class 146 (i).] Supporting members for the cards 5 of a visible index comprise resilient wires 8 having inturned ends 9 formed with offset continuations 11 adapted to engage a card detachably. The parts 9 of the wires 8 are inserted under side-flanges 3, 4 on a baseplate 2 by flexing the wires, and the cards are provided with hinge-members 14 adapted to be engaged by the offset parts 11 of the wires 8. The spacing of the parts 11 from the main wires 8 is such that when the members 14 are being engaged therewith, the plate 2 and wires 8 serve as guides for facilitating the operation. |
