The present invention relates to a crescent for a sliding window. The crescent according to the present invention is installed on one window frame, and is selectively locked or unlocked by the latching groove of a locking member at the other window frame. The crescent comprises: a base being installed and fixed to the one window frame; an acting shaft having a locking piece formed at the front end thereof in a direction intersecting with the axial direction thereof so as to be selectively locked or unlocked by the locking member, wherein the front end penetrates the base; a handle being coupled to the rear end of the acting shaft, rotating the acting shaft, and moving the acting shaft in the axial direction; an elastic member having one end supported at the acting shaft or the handle and the other end supported at the base, and elastically supporting the handle in an unlocking direction; and an inclined surface being formed on at least one among surfaces between the locking piece and the inner surface of the latching groove, and guiding a distance between the base and the locking member to become narrow by the rotation of the acting shaft. |
