<p>Glucoside sulphuric acid esters, which are stated to be washing, cleansing, foaming and dispersing agents are obtained by effecting the glucoside formation, from the sugar and the monohydric alcohol, and the sulphonation in one operation. In an example, dextrose is treated with sulphuric acid and lauryl alcohol then added. The product is poured on ice and the aqueous acid separated by adding butyl alcohol or other solvent, e.g. pyridine or methylcyclohexanol. The resulting paste is neutralized with soda or other alkali, ammonia or organic bases; it may be dried in an atomizing dryer. Neutralization may be effected before separation of the aqueous acid.ALSO:Glucoside sulphuric acid esters, which are stated to be washing, cleansing, foaming and dispersing agents, are obtained by effecting the glucoside formation from the sugar and the alcohol, and the sulphonation in one operation.
