PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flat-winding type secondary battery which is suitable for large capacity of a secondary battery and can be manufactured at high productivity. SOLUTION: In the flat-winding type secondary battery wherein an electrode winding group is inserted and arranged in a battery can, a cross-sectioned shape of an axis core viewed from a winding axis direction is a racetrack shape, the axis core is formed by an axis core trunk member made of an insulating material, an axis core collector member of a positive electrode connected to one end of the axis core trunk member in the axial direction, and an axis core collector member of a negative electrode connected to the other end of the axis core trunk member. In the axis core collector member, a cross-sectioned shape in a short-axis direction of the racetrack shape is a concave shape at an axis core trunk member side as a bottom, electrical connection with a collector tab is carried out inside the concave shape at a linear zone of the racetrack shape, and a space between an electrode winding group and the battery can is electrically insulated.
