The device has a elastically flexible sealing band (4) that is provided with a terminal block (5) for connecting the front layer (2) on a second side edge of a clamp housing (6). A first side edge of the clamp housing is connected to the door or window element (3). The sealing band is made of the plastic material, and is integrally connected by gluing. An independent claim is included for a method for closing expansion joint in facade level of building.
