PURPOSE: A ship approach warning system for bridge protection and a warning method thereof are provided to prevent a ship from colliding with a bridge by sensing a ship which approaches the bridge and enters the sensing area and warning it. CONSTITUTION: An approach detection unit is constituted with a laser radiation unit (100), a control unit, a laser light receiving unit, a detection unit (300) and a micro processor unit (MPU) (600). The laser radiation unit and the laser light receiving unit are installed at the bridge center of the right lower part of the superstructure of a bridge. The detection unit provides an output of the laser light receiving unit and an output of a photo detector sensed in the laser radiation unit. A condenser lens (202) is installed in the front of an avalanche photo diode (APD) of the laser light receiving unit. A warning driver (700) is controlled by being connected to an output port of the MPU. |
