A portable terminal and a keypad displaying method thereof are provided to display the desired row of the keypad by using a scroll function, to enlarge a display area displaying edit contents, to reduce the display area which the keypad is displayed and to improve the convenience of a user. A first display area inputs data. A second display area includes a keypad for inputting data. A controller(140) indicates a scroll unit for scrolling the keypad if a second display area by a predetermined factor is smaller than a predetermined size. The predetermined factor indicates the change of the first and the second display area and the set of a menu previously inputted by a user. |
