PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a power factor by inexpensively suppressing a harmonic current, and miniaturize a reactor.SOLUTION: An AC-DC conversion device includes: a rectifier 2 connected to an AC power supply via a reactor 5; a plurality of capacitors 6, 7 connected in series between output terminals of the rectifier 2; and switching means connected to the rectifier 2. In a half period of the AC power supply, the switching means is drivingly controlled such that the rectifier 2 controls four rectification states consisting of a full wave rectification state, a first doubling rectification state, a second doubling rectification state and a power short circuit state, as a virtual power supply, to cause a potential difference between the virtual power supply and the AC power supply to produce a current in a substantially sinusoidal wave. |
