The present invention provides a natural killer (NK) cell-priming composition which comprises (i) a CD2 ligation agent; and (ii) an NKG2D ligation agent. The invention also provides an NK-cell priming substrate or vesicle (such as a liposome) which a CD2 ligation agent and an NKG2D ligation agent. The invention also provides a method for activating an NK cell which comprises the step of contacting the NK cell in vitrowith such an NK-cell priming composition or NK-cell priming substrate or vesicle.
