PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for acquiring a position of a user, which reduce time to be required for acquisition of an initial position by reducing retrieval time for estimating a position of a user, and reducing a map size which should be retrieved, and have improved precision of positioning.SOLUTION: A method for acquiring a position of a user includes the steps of: acquiring first position information on a user; retrieving a plurality of candidate areas corresponding to the first position information on the user in a first preliminarily stored map; selecting at least one search area from among the plurality of candidate areas corresponding to the first position information on the basis of second position information on the user; and determining a position of the user by using the at least one search area. |
