The thermal photography device and thermal photography method of the present invention relate to thermal videography devices, thermal image processing devices, and the application field of thermal videography. Video recording devices of the prior art rely on the subjective experience of a user for the selection of an object to be filmed, being thus low in efficiency and prone to omissions. The thermal photography device and thermal photography method of the present invention are based on pre-stored information of objects to be filmed augmented by a sequential order and data constituted by related reference images. When the information of an object to be filmed is designated as the information of a particular object to be filmed, indication information of an object to be filmed is acquired from the information of particular objects to be filmed and is specially displayed, and a reference image is displayed, this latter serving as prompt information for the present object to be filmed. Then, when a switch instruction is issued, information for designating the particular object to be filmed and the reference image are switched according to the sequence. The goal is thus achieved of prompting the user in the correct sequence of the present object to be filmed, filming speed and recording quality are improved, and omissions are less likely.
