PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a map display device and a navigation system comprising said map display device, which realize display of an appropriate road name of a road corresponding to a search target point.SOLUTION: As a search condition is input, a road name corresponding to a search target point is obtained (S300); character data within display map data is retrieved (S310); a scale of the display map data including an applicable road name in the character data is obtained (yes for S320; S330); and a map drawing process is performed with the obtained scale (S340). That is, in drawing a map including the search target point, the character data within the display map data is retrieved in advance and the display map data of a scale in which a road name corresponding to the search target point is included in the character data is used so as to display the road name. |
