PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device suppressing degradation in the display quality.SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device comprises: a first substrate AR having a pixel electrode PE and a switching element SW for switching the connection between a source wiring line S disposed at one side in a first direction X and the pixel electrode PE; a second substrate CT having a common electrode CE extending in a second direction Y; and a liquid crystal layer LQ containing liquid crystal molecules held between the first substrate AR and the second substrate CT. The pixel electrode PE includes a first pixel electrode PE and a second pixel electrode PE arranged parallel to each other in the first direction X, each having a main pixel electrode PA extending substantially parallel to the source wiring line S. The common electrode CE is disposed at the other side in the first direction X with respect to one side where the first pixel electrode PE is disposed, as well as disposed at the one side of the second pixel electrode PE. The main pixel electrode PA of the first pixel electrode PE is disposed along the source wiring line S disposed at the one side in the first direction X, while the main pixel electrode PA of the second pixel electrode PE is disposed along the source wiring line S disposed at the other side in the first direction X. |
