[Class 89 (ii)] A circlip having eccentric inner and outer edges and inwardly or outwardly extending lugs at the free ends, according to whether the clip is for external or internal use is bowed laterally as by bending on a cylindrical mandril so that the points 24 of maximum bowing are midway between the free ends 12 and the point 22 of maximum thickness. The part 19 to be located overhangs the edge of the groove for the clip and the amount of bowing is sufficient to allow pressure against the edges 17, 18 in spite of the manufacturing tolerances in the various parts. |
