[Class 35.] Air is withdrawn from the casing of the generator of a Lj³ngstr÷m turbo-generator system through openings in the casing opposite the periphery of the stator iron and passes through ducts to a fan at the end of the machine and a cooler and returns to the casing by other openings also opposite the periphery of the stator iron. In the arrangement shown the air leaves the casing through an opening f, and is passed by the fan v through the ducts k, c and over the cooler r, returning to the generator casing as shown. It then passes through openings n in partitions at the ends of the stator, through the air gap and through passages s in the stator iron to a duct a leading to the opening f.
