The switch has a self-locking electrical contact assembly (300) with a hollow envelope (302) and a conducting body (301) that has a contact zone connected to external circumference of the body by a shoulder (314). The envelope has a deformable electric connection unit (323) in contact with the shoulder to move under action of drive force and deform against a displacement stop. The unit (323) develops a locking force with a main component directed along a radial direction perpendicular to a longitudinal axis (Y). The force ensures an electromagnetic connection between the zone and the unit. An independent claim is also included for protection assembly for protecting electrical equipment against internal arcs and for connecting a set of electrical bars, comprising an internal arc detection sensor.
