Disclosed are a socket power control apparatus and a power control method thereof. A socket power control apparatus according to the present invention comprises: a switch for selecting constant power supply or power control about an electric device connected to a socket; a motion detecting unit for detecting motion in a predetermined area if the power control is selected by the switch; and a control unit for controlling to block power supplied to the electric device connected to a corresponding socket in case any motion is not detected by the motion detecting unit for the predetermined time.
