The present invention relates to a large cross head diesel engine (1) which comprises a cylinder section (6) installed in a stand (5) for holding cylinders; a base plate (2) for holding a crankshaft (3); and a stand (5) installed in the stand (5) with two bricks (4). In this respect, the base plate (2), stand (5), and the cylinder section (6) are connected to each other at the section of the stand (5) by a tie rod (7) along the support walls (8, 81, 82), and a sliding surface (9) is formed at the support walls (8, 81, 82) to support a cross head. First and second transverse support walls (8, 81, 8, 82) are positioned at the end part (10) of the stand (5) and connected to each other by a middle wall (11). In this respect, a vibration compensator (12) is provided at the end part (10) of the stand (5) to compensate the vibration. According to the invention, the vibration compensator (12) is formed in the area of the first and second support walls (81, 82) in order for the first and second compensator bodies (121, 122) to be placed side by side with the crankshaft (3).
