PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a golf club head suitable for swinging straight when swinging and hitting a ball as straight as possible without complicating the shape of a sole face. SOLUTION: The sole face 14 of a fairway wood 10 includes a projecting rib 20 on the heel 14A side. The rib 20 extends along a direction substantially orthogonal to a face surface 11 and includes an upper end 25 with a width of 4.5-5.0 mm and the maximum height of 2.5-3.0 mm.
