PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing an expanded perlite board is provided to achieve superior quality and to reduce time required for a plasticizing process by including a primary plasticizing process with microwaves. CONSTITUTION: A method for manufacturing an expanded perlite board includes the following steps of: mixing 2000 parts by weight of expanded perlite, 450-800 parts by weight of a low temperature binder, and water; molding the mixture with a press molding method; surface-treating the molded product, and applying coating liquid on the surface of the molded product; and completing a product by primarily plasticizing the molded product in a microwave plasticizing furnace and secondarily plasticizing the molded product in a high temperature plasticizing furnace. The low temperature binder is composed of 400-600 parts by weight of sodium silicate and 50-200 parts by weight of a stabilizer based on 2000 parts by weight of the expanded perlite. If a high temperature binder is used for the mixing process, 2000 parts by weight of the expanded perlite, 1,000-1,500 parts by weight of water, and 450-800 parts by weight of a glaze, which is the high temperature binder, are mixed. The molded product is carried by a conveyor carrying method in the completing process.
