The present invention relates to an open-type duct support frame and an assembly method thereof by which a duct assembly formed by connecting several duct pieces is integrally coupled in a ventilation system for a ship. The open-type duct support frame and the assembly method thereof according to the present invention save not only duct coupling time by integrally coupling the duct assembly formed by connecting the duct pieces in the ventilation system for a ship, but also the weight, size, and material costs of the support frame in comparison with a welded close-type support frame because the support frame according to the present invention does not need margin to be welded by integrally coupling the duct assembly formed by connecting the duct pieces in the ventilation system for a ship.
