PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and method for determining misalignment of a photoreceptor belt and indicating that maintenance of the belt and a device is required.SOLUTION: The method includes: printing a plurality of markings as registration data on a surface of a photoreceptor belt; detecting each registration difference, in a lateral direction orthogonal to a process direction, between corresponding actual and original locations of the registration data; in response to determining that at least one marking among the plurality of markings is out of compliance with at least one threshold value, displaying indication that maintenance is required for the photoreceptor belt. |
