PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a neutralization device inhibiting deviation of remaining neutralizing agent after a long period of use in the device in which the upper projecting parts are formed at the distal ends of a plurality of partition walls horizontally partitioning the inside of a neutralizing part filled with the neutralizing agent, and to provide a water heater having the device.SOLUTION: There is provided a neutralization device 27 for neutralizing drain by circulating through a neutralizing part 43 filled with a neutralizing agent 53. The inside of the neutralizing part 43 is divided nearly equally into a plurality of regions s1, s2, s3 by a plurality of partition walls 54, 55 extending to nearly horizontal direction in the neutralizing part 43, and the communicating parts 56, 57 are alternately formed at the distal end sides of the partition walls 54, 55. The drain flows from above toward below while meandering in a horizontal direction. The upper projecting parts 59, 61 are formed at the distal ends of the plurality of partition walls 54, 55, and in the partition walls 54, 55 adjacent to each other, the upper projecting part 59 of the partition wall 54 positioned at the upstream side in a drain flow direction is made to be lower in height than the upper projecting part 61 of the partition wall 55 positioned at the downstream side in the drain flow direction. |
