PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem wherein conventionally two molds of a female and a male are needed and when characters and patterns to be engraved are changed, a new set of a female mold and a male mold has to be prepared at each time, thereby incurring expenses for the patterns and requring load to store the patterns.SOLUTION: A method uses a dot marking device which engraves characters and patterns by a number of dots by moving the engraving pin back and forth. On the work table of the dot marking device, a material to be processed 15 such as a thin metal, a paper piece, or a thin resin plate is mounted. After engraving by the engraving pin, a relief surface is formed by engraving data which are normal characters and patterns seen from the opposite side of the engraved surface of the material to be processed. Then, convex characters and convex patterns whose front surface is a relief surface is engraved on a thin metal and a paper piece. |
