PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical member capable of suppressing generation of moire, having excellent mechanical strength, and capable of realizing a liquid crystal display device with high luminosity.SOLUTION: An optical member includes a polarizing plate, a light diffusion layer, a reflection type polarizer and a prism sheet, in this order. The polarizing plate typically has a polarizer and a protective layer arranged on at least one side of the polarizer. The reflection type polarizer is a multilayer laminate typically with a layer having birefringence and a layer having substantially no birefringence alternately laminated. The prism sheet typically has a substrate part and a prism part. |
