PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an energy-saving water purifier which can improve the efficiency of electrolysis, and further can prevent performance deterioration due to scale.SOLUTION: A water purifier includes a first catalytic electrode 1 which raw water comes in contact with, a second catalytic electrode 2, a cation exchange membrane 3 disposed between the first catalytic electrode 1 and the second catalytic electrode 2, and a container 4 that defines a sealed space ES to which the second catalytic electrode 2 faces. This configuration allows electrolysis of the raw water that comes in contact with the first catalytic electrode 1, and a hydrogen ion is generated. The hydrogen ion reaches the second catalytic electrode 2 through the cation exchange membrane 3. As a result, the hydrogen ion reacts with oxygen in the sealed space ES of the container, a water molecule is generated and condensed, and the purified water is obtained. |
