PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an armrest device of a chair which is designed to permit an armrest to be moved in two directions crossing each other, and an entire opening in the lower side of the armrest to be surely blocked by blocking members whichever positions the armrests are located within the range of movement.SOLUTION: An armrest device of a chair includes an armrest substrate 51 supported on an armrest post 10 rightward and leftward movably and forward and rearward movably within a horizontal plane, and having an opening 63; a shielding member 50 having a blocking plate 50a blocking the opening 63; a holding means 71 for holding the armrest substrate 51 and the shielding member 50 on the armrest post 10; and an arm pad 52. The shielding member 50 is connected with the armrest substrate 51 to permit the blocking member to move rightward and leftward together with the armrest substrate, and the left-to-right width of the blocking plate 50a is made nearly equal to the left-to-right width of the opening 63. |
