PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To output a variety of image feature amounts with the pixel signals of respective pixels.SOLUTION: A CDS circuit 3, which comprises two capacitors connectable and disconnectable using a switch, generates for one of the capacitors a pixel signal corresponding to a difference between a reset potential and a signal potential given from a pixel and thereafter delivers a part of the electric charge to the other capacitor to generate two independent pixel signals. An averaging circuit 19 connects one end of the other capacitor of each CDS circuit 3 in common and generates an average value signal. An illuminance detection unit 24 adds average value signals of each pixel row and outputs the illuminance of the light-receiving surface of a pixel array 2.
