PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document conveying device capable of preventing a collision of the conveying direction upstream end of a document with a document conveying surface of a conveying guide member and capable of suppressing noise caused by the impact thereof.SOLUTION: A document conveying device 20 includes: an elastic sheet-like member 57 that is provided in a manner that it projects to a document conveying space from a document conveying surface of a first document conveying path 32 to extend to a document width direction; a contact image sensor 55 that is provided on the first document conveying path 32 to read the image of the document during conveyance; and a second curved portion 32d where the first document conveying path 32 is curved along the document conveying direction. The elastic sheet-like member 57 is provided in a manner that it projects to the document conveying space, on the document conveying surface opposed to the contact image sensor 55, on the upstream side of the second curved portion 32d in the document conveying direction and on the downstream side of the contact image sensor 55 in the document conveying direction, and toward the document conveying space, a center 57b in the document width direction projects more than both ends 57c in the document width direction to have a mountain-like shape and comes into contact with the document conveying surface opposed thereto. |
