PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide methods and compositions for modifying glycans (e.g., glycans expressed on the surface of live cells or cell particles).SOLUTION: Compositions and methods allow modification of cell-surface glycans while preserving cell viability and one or more phenotypic characteristics of the cell. For example, the methods and compositions can be employed to modify particular phenotypic characteristics of the cell (such as glycosylation) while preserving one or more other phenotypic characteristics (e.g., multipotency) of the cell. |
