[Class 75 (ii).] In a wall lamp comprising a back-plate on which the illuminant and a detachable cover-glass are supported, the coverglass is mounted by means affording inter-engaging upwardly and downwardly directed wedging surfaces carried by the back-plate and the cover-glass and so arranged as to be drawn into wedging engagement with one another by the weight of the cover-glass, which is thus held in place and is releasable from the back-plate by an upward movement. The side edges 18 of the cover-glass 16 project outwardly and converge downwardly, and are received by similarly converging channelled projections 19 on the sides of the back-plate 10. Alternatively, upwardly converging internal recesses on the sides of the cover-glass may receive similarly converging projections on the back-plate. The upward movement of the cover-glass when it is being removed is limited by a stop on the back-plate. Spring fingers with latch-like toe pieces 22 may be provided to hold the coverglass in position. The back-plate may be of stainless steel, or coated with white enamel. The back-plate and side edges of the cover-glass may be curved in side elevation. |
