ANTIBODIES THAT BIND IL-4 AND/OR IL-13 AND THEIR USES

The present invention relates to a polyvalent bispecific antibody format which comprises a first polypeptide which is a constant heavy chain and a second polypeptide which is a constant light chain, wherein the first polypeptide is attached to two or more variable domains of a heavy chain and the second polypeptide is attached to two or more variable domains of a light chain. A preferred embodiment of the present invention refers to a tetravalent bispecific tandem immunoglobulin (TBTI).
The polyvalent bispecific antibodies of the present invention resemble and keep the stability characteristics of an immunoglobulin molecule, expressing the heavy and light chains on two different polypeptides and incorporating the constant heavy regions and the constant light regions in order to stabilize the interaction between the variable heavy and the variable light domains and to force correct pairing of the corresponding VHNL. The present invention further refers to the uses of such polyvalent bispecific antibodies.
