A folding mechanism for a hopper flare, the mechanism comprising a linkage mechanism (36) having a first track (38) provided on a first support (33), a second track (40) provided on a second support (25), and a link (42) coupled to both the first (38) and second tracks (40). The link (42) is capable of riding simultaneously along each of the first and second tracks as the second support pivots about its pivot axis (P). The first track includes a locking track segment (62) having a bearing surface (64) oriented to resist, by engagement with the link (42), movement of the second support about the pivot axis (P) in at least one direction. |
