<p>A method of controlling a hybrid powertrain (100, Figure 1) comprising a motor-generator electric unit (500, Figure 1) and an internal combustion engine (110, Figure 1). When a requested torque T is higher than the available "smoke limit" torque Tsmoke, the method comprising the following steps. Defining a requested electric torque 21 as the difference between requested torque Treq and said "smoke limit" torque Tsmoke, verifying if the conditions to actuate the motor-generator electric unit (500) are met 22, and if yes, actuating the motor-generator electric unit (500) 23, to increase the available torque to the drive shaft. Preferably the conditions to actuate the motor generator electric unit (500) are the state of charge of the batteries (600, Figure 1) and the battery power. Also disclosed is a hybrid powertrain (100) having an electronic control unit (450, Figure 1) configured to carry out the above method.</p> |
